My name is Toni and I am a counselling therapist. I have experience of being both a therapist and a client. Because of this I know how important it is to find the “right fit”: a person who you feel gets you, and who you can build enough trust with to bring your whole self. Together I hope we can create enough safety for you to take the courageous steps towards living the life you want.

A little about Joanne

Hi and welcome to my about me page, my name is Joanne and I am a counsellor, I have a genuine passion for helping others, I am also a Hypnotherapist,

Why did I choose to become a counsellor?

Throughout my life I have always helped others but not always in the capacity of a therapist, it seemed like the next logical step to take to become a counsellor, and this in turn has allowed me to support individuals on their journeys towards healing and personal growth in a professional capacity.

What do I enjoy most about my work?

Firstly I would like to say that I feel honoured to work with all of my clients and everyone I meet is so unique and individually different, it gives me great satisfaction to help others to navigate life’s challenges and for each individual to reach their desired outcomes and goals, I am committed to fostering resilience and understanding in those that I work with and my approach prioritises empathy, openness and encouragement for individuals to express themselves fully, exploring their unique thoughts and feelings in a nurturing and safe environment which in turn transforms the lives of the people that I work with.

What areas do you specialise in? What do you most enjoy helping others with?

I really would not say that I specialise in any particular area, though I am able to assist and have experience in many areas for example:

Anxiety

Addictions

Anger

Self confidence/Self Esteem

Bereavement and loss

Emotional issues

Panic Attacks

Phobia

Self defeating behaviours

Stress

Shyness/Social phobia

These are just some of the areas that I am able and enjoy working with.
